I was at a bridal show recently, and as I was admiring a gorgeous gown on a mannequin, a photographer interrupted my oohing and aahing to say, "oh, that's a pull-up." A what? Remember, wedding gowns are extremely heavy -- so a well-constructed, well-fitted bodice is essential when you're wearing a strapless gown. Invest in *quality* alterations, make sure the gown fits tightly enough that it won't slip down, and look for strapless gowns that feature corsets. Or, better yet, if you can afford it, look for a custom-made gown that can have a custom corset built in. And test it out before you leave your fitting! Can you bend down in it? Reach up? Dance? Make sure you can! |
