I was at a bridal show recently, and as I was admiring a gorgeous gown on a mannequin, a photographer interrupted my oohing and aahing to say, "oh, that's a pull-up." A what?

These days, strapless gowns are ultra-popular -- many of the gowns you'll see in shops will be in this style, and, for many brides, it's very flattering. But, if it's not fitted properly, your gown can ride down as you move -- hence our photographer's description of these gowns as "pull-ups."

Pulling your gown up throughout your wedding and reception will be a drag -- and could even interfere with your pictures! (Or worse ...)

Remember, wedding gowns are extremely heavy -- so a well-constructed, well-fitted bodice is essential when you're wearing a strapless gown. Invest in *quality* alterations, make sure the gown fits tightly enough that it won't slip down, and look for strapless gowns that feature corsets. Or, better yet, if you can afford it, look for a custom-made gown that can have a custom corset built in.

And test it out before you leave your fitting!  Can you bend down in it?  Reach up?  Dance?  Make sure you can!
